A Short Moral Story on Sharing and Friendship: A Lonely Boy
Tarun had many toys. But he never liked to share. If anyone asked for a turn, he would say no and keep the toy to himself. Soon, his friends stopped playing with him.
At school, Tarun sat alone. He watched other children laugh and play together, but no one called him. At home too, he had no friends to visit. Tarun felt sad and lonely.
One day, a new boy named Suhail moved into the neighbourhood. When Suhail came to Tarun’s house, he carried a Rubik’s Cube. Tarun’s eyes lit up. Suhail noticed and smiled. He held out the cube and said, “Do you want to try?”
Tarun was surprised. Nobody had ever shared toys with him like that. He held the cube carefully and kept playing while Suhail chatted with him.
Just then, Tarun’s mother gave Suhail a ball to play with. Tarun quickly grabbed it from his hands. His mother worried a fight would begin.
But Suhail did not get angry. He said calmly, “It’s okay. You can play with both toys. I will wait for my turn.”
Tarun blinked. “Will you not fight with me?” he asked.
Suhail smiled. “I can lose a toy, but I cannot lose a friend. Friends care for each other, and that is why they share.”
Tarun thought about those words. From that day, he started sharing his toys and taking turns. Soon, he had many friends. His laughter returned, and he was no longer a lonely boy.

I remember a simple moment with my son Uzair when he was ten. He had a pack of chocolates, and his younger brother Umair wanted one. At first, Uzair did not want to share, but after a little push, he gave one to his brother. Umair hugged him and said, “You are my best friend.” That small act of sharing turned into a big moment of love. It showed me how sharing builds strong bonds. Stories like these are why the MoralStory Series: Shaping Values, One Story at a Time and How to Manage Screen Time for Kids: A Healthy, Balanced Approach are so useful. They help parents teach values of kindness, care, and friendship in simple ways that last a lifetime.
